El Condor Pasa (If I Could) è un adattamento di El Cóndor Pasa una canzone composta dal peruviano Daniel Alomía Robles nel 1913 su testo di Julio de La Paz. A sua volta i due si sono ispirati a una melodia popolare andina. Paul Simon la ascoltò la prima volta a Parigi dalla band Los Incas e chiese il permesso di registrarne una propria versione. Da notare che nello stesso anno i Pink Floyd pubblicarono in Atom Heart Mother una canzone tematicamente simile, If.
